The Museums of the Diocese of Peoria and the Cathedral of St. Mary provide “full service” day trips for your school or parish group.  You can spend an hour or the whole day enjoying the various museum displays that tell the story of Venerable Fulton Sheen and our diocesan history.

Through December 2018, the museum celebrates 10 years of bringing our local story to life by sharing the “Secrets from the Archives” - a treasury of hidden gems of facts and figures.

A short walk down the street and your group can enjoy a guided tour of our beautiful, recently restored Cathedral.  Pray in the Relic Chapel.  Listen to the beauty of the historic organ. Count the number of planets on the ceiling.  Are there really Chihuahuas hidden in the paintings?

To help make your pilgrimage complete, Mass can be offered in any of the six chapels in the Cathedral/Spalding Center campus.

The museum staff is also happy to help you make arrangements for a lunch—anything from a simple boxed lunch to a sit-down banquet.

While in the Heart of Peoria, consider a stop at St. Joseph’s Church—the oldest Catholic Church in the city of Peoria or Sacred Heart Church—a jewel box located right across from City Hall.

All of these pilgrimage stops are also within minutes of the Riverfront Museum and Warehouse District shopping and dinning.

Tours are usually scheduled on weekdays, anytime from 9am-4pm.  Evening and weekend events are also possible, but require extra planning.  Call soon!  Contact      Sr. Lea for more details about the many options available: 309/671-1550 or
